Demoralizing

I’m not sure what it takes to win at poker anymore.  It’s not that I’m taking bad beat after bad beat, although I have taken my share over the past 3 weeks.  Coolers? Plenty of them.  But it just seems like the past few days I can’t win a hand.  It feels like everyone is playing back at me:

I’m missing every flop. When I C-Bet, I get floated or raised.  Every 3 bet gets flatted or 4 bet.  I get QQ, they have KK.  I have KK, they have AA.  It’s getting a bit demoralizing.

I got a stake for $50NL from a 2+2’er and it started off so well.  In just a few days I was up several buyins and all was looking hunky dory!  Then Monday came along.  I was feeling good and BAM, Doomswitch.  I keep my cool in such situations.  It’s not like I’m tilting it away.  I make sure I’m in a good state of mind and have a positive outlook on the game before I ever start a session.  When I feel myself starting to get stressed, I quit and come back later.  It’s getting hard to put in my normal amount of hands these days though.  I’ve lost 11 buyins since Monday.

Bah.  I’m going to watch some Cardrunners videos and try to plug some leaks.  I’ve been posting some hands on 2+2 trying to help.  I know I can beat the games.  I’ve done it before.  I’m still doing it in the long run.  But for the love of Christ, even the worst of fish run hot sometimes.  Where is my rungood?!

I was going through my photobucket and found a graph that I had from $50NL last year.  I’m printing this one out to remind myself that I ran good one time.

I honestly suck at poker... BUT... Some of those "Hero Calls" at the end looked bad. I mean if the board pairs and the guys is suddenly jamming his whole stack in at the .25/.50 level.. I doubt it is a bluff.. It could be a worse flush... but I think your beat a lot of the time there. Sick hands and beats agreed.. but do not pay the fish off? At higher levels I think it could be more of a play.
